Research Information

Our members volunteer to do research in order to assist others in finding information on their families and friends. We are receiving many requests and ask for your patience as we process your request. In order to cover operating expenses and to bring in revenue for more books and materials to use in the research there is a need to charge fees.

Types of Fees:

Basic Fee: This fee is for lookups and photocopying documents that have already been researched and are in our library: such as, Obituaries and Cemeteries. This fee is $5.⁰⁰. There is a form to be filled out and mailed to the above address. Copies will be sent on receipt of the form and fee. (Basic Fee requests must be typed or clearly printed.)

Research Fee: Our minimum research fee is $10.⁰⁰. This covers a maximum of one hour of research. An additional 25 cents per page will be charged for copy expenses, postage, envelopes, and handling. For copies beyond five (5), it will be 10 cents per page.

If the availability of additional information is indicated after the first hour, we will notify you and you can choose to have us continue at $10.⁰⁰ per hour or not to continue. The fee for copies will be the same as the above. You may give us a limit as to how much you wish to pay.

If there is a need to travel out of Wenatchee to neighboring towns in our area there will be an additional fee for mileage, photograghs, and parking fees. We will not do this without your consent.

For the initial fee of $10.⁰⁰ we will check our in-house resources and copy as much information (25 cents per page up to 5 pages and 10 cents per page after) as the first hour permits. You may request that we check specific resources for you.

Libraries

Obituaries

If you have already researched any of the above resources, please let us know so we don’t duplicate your efforts. When we have received a letter and your initial payment, we will begin the research. Again, we will not go beyond the initial fee without your permission. When the research is complete, we will mail you a final bill (if it is beyond the initial fee).

We would like you to include a typed pedigree chart and a typed family group sheet if you have them. This would greatly assist us in our research.

We welcome walk-ins to our library. Use of the library is free except for the duplicating of materials.
