Surnames from Research and Family Folders
including the Chadbourne Collections

As research was done at WAGS, much of the information was filed away by surname. The contents of these files vary, and may include research requests, correspondence, pedigree charts, family group sheets, obits, census and city directory records, plus many donations of information by WAGS patrons. (Thanks to Dick and Paula Banning, Bob Berkley, Sharon Crawford, Phyllis Griffith, Gene Hall, Leslie Larsen, Fred Pflugrath, Pat Robbins and Mary Swartz for all their work creating this index.)

Chadbourne Surnames Collection
Chadbourne Locations Collection
Florence Chadbourne was WAGS’ chief researcher for over 40 years. As she researched requests, she filed copies of the information–both for surnames and locations, in the hope they would come in handy for another genealogist someday! The index below includes the indexes for both of these collections. (The Locations Collection index is also treated separately under Miscellaneous.)

Research Requests:
It would be ideal to access these surname folders in person at our library, but if that’s not possible, and if you need more information, a WAGS volunteer could do this research for you. Select the Add to Cart button next to the record and describe in detail on the order form the name/place/time you’d like researched. This will add one hour of research time to your cart. The results of the research will be emailed to you. (Note: WAGS volunteers are not professional researchers.)

The Custom SEARCH Builder ‘Add Condition’ Button filter above the data table is used to search (filter) data in any or all column(s) of the data table. You select the columns needed to limit your search. To start over, try your Refresh key; then use the Clear ‘X’ or ‘Clear All button to clear out any prior search text you have entered.

Use the ‘+’ button on the left of any row to better view data using a pop-up window versus the wrapped text in each cell of the table.
The normal table SEARCH box on the top right is used to search for data in ANY column. No need to use ‘wildcard’ characters in your searching or filtering–the search filters do that automatically. Therefore don’t put too much info in the custom or normal search filter boxes; it could cause nothing to be found. Start with just a few characters in the search boxes and work up from there.

You can PRINT, download in CSV format, or copy to the clipboard the displayed records.
