Local History Scrapbook Collection

Volunteers have been collecting newspaper articles and photos from the Wenatchee World and Daily World (plus some out-of-area newspapers) since WAGS began in 1971. We have nearly 100 spiral-bound ledgers full of local and regional information going back to the late 1800s and forward to 2020. (Thanks to Phyllis Barnett for coordinating this long-term project!)
The scrapbooks are organized into four categories:
–Anniversaries and Celebrations – this project was started as Wedding Anniversaries in North Central Washington early 1900’s – 2016 newspaper articles by Phyllis Griffith. She then started including other celebrations such as birthdays and family gatherings that made the newspapers. Soon the indexing will be completed and available to you in Our Master Database Index. –History in the Making
–Old News
–Pictorial Past
