The Jones & Jones Funeral Home Ledgers are included with a large quantity of funeral home records from 1903 to the 1990’s which were donated to WAGS by J&J Director Eldon Hawkins. When Jones & Jones merged with Betts Funeral Service, there was no room for the records, and WAGS was grateful to acquire them.
The ledgers and many other documents from the record collection are handwritten (script or printed) and could not be made searchable, so they were indexed for just the name of the referenced person with the location of the image file recorded as part of the index. The images are in the WAGS Digital Archive and are available for WAGS members to view or print as desired. Non-WAGS members can purchase the images as well.
The ledger images include a considerable amount of information about the referenced person as can be seen in the adjacent image. Jones and Jones requested that we not include any cost information on the digitized copy of the image so the cost information was masked out.
Thanks to Susan Rumble of WAGS for beginning the process of indexing these valuable ledger records. This is an on-going project that will take years to complete; many thousands of these ledger records are planned to be indexed and the images made available for searching and viewing.
Please note that most of the Jones and Jones Funeral Home records have been indexed and are available for searching and purchase in the ‘Funeral Home Records’ database listed on the ‘On-line Record Collection‘ page. The primary people referenced in the ledger images in this database should be in the ‘Funeral Home Records’ index but not necessarily the other people and info shown in those ledger images (parents, doctor, cause of death, etc.). Be sure to check our Digital Image Archive for other related records.
Order online by selecting the Add button for that record. (Orders can be completed online or via the U.S. Postal Service.) The handling fee for each record is $6.00 for non-members and $4.00 for members.

SEARCHING and PRINTING: Use the Search box for searching for items anywhere in the table. Use the column filters (at the bottom of each column) to filter data for any or all columns. Using the Search box in combination with the column filters can allow very complicated searches. Experiment with Search and the column filter function to see how it works. Hit the Clear Filters button to clear any entries in the filter cells. The Print button will print the data shown in the table, whether searching and filtering were used or not.
To order a record, click the Add to Cart button for the record you would like to order. When the product listing comes up, if the data is what you want, then click the Add to Cart button on the bottom of the Product Listing to add it to your cart. When finished, click the Proceed to Checkout button.
