Burke Cemetery

Grant County(Burke once NE of George, WA) T18N  R23 E  SEC 1
Contributed by Fred Pflugrath. Last update: 3 Feb 2010.
The cemetery was located on the grounds of the Catholic Church at the old town of Burke across the freeway northeast of George. It was in Township 18N, Range 23 E, in the SE corner of section 1, at the Intersection of Rd L and Rd 5 NW. The cemetery has since been vacated and the bodies removed. Some graves were moved to Quincy Cemetery and are noted under “Notes” in the cemetery records.

Fred Pflugrth is not sure where others were moved. He compiled a list of burials from obits, from “The Pioneer’s Memory Book” by Anna M Fleckenstein Berner 1952, and the Grant County Genealogical Society Bulletin.
The 1909 map of Grant and Douglas shows the old town of Burke, shown on this map as about ten miles south and west of Quincy, WA.
The COLUMN SEARCH FILTER boxes above the data table are used for searching in any column of the data table. You can use any or all the boxes to limit your search. Use the ‘Clear Filters’ button to clear out any characters you have entered to start over. Use the bottom ‘Scroll Bar‘ to view more columns.
The table SEARCH box on the top right can also be used to search for data in ANY column. No need to use ‘wildcards’ in your search, the filters do that automatically, therefore don’t put too much info in any filter box; it could cause nothing to be found; start with just a few characters in the search boxes (like: jone for searching for Jones, Edward C. in the NAME column filter box), then add more characters or use other column filters to narrow your search.
You can PRINT, download in CSV or Excel format, or copy to the clipboard the displayed records. Use the ‘Show Entries’ pulldown to control how many rows of data to display on each page.  Always check the print preview and verify the number of pages you want to print.
